On May 26, 2025, we celebrated the 140th anniversary of our parent company, HHLA, from Hamburg, at Muuga with a “blue container” and a barbecue party. From HHLA’s headquarters in Hamburg, a bright blue container, a tent to host guests, delicious German sausages, soft drinks, and gifts for colleagues all arrived at Muuga.
The blue container’s journey to Estonia began in Hamburg and, as part of HHLA’s anniversary year, it will travel through HHLA’s European network. Among other stops, the container will visit Prague, Budapest, and Trieste. Tallinn was one of its first destinations, where, in addition to the staff celebration, thematic film was shot. The container will return to Hamburg in September. This journey of the container symbolizes the importance of HHLA’s logistics network—traveling through Europe, it vividly brings to life the brand promise: “The Power of Networks.”
For the event, we created a picnic area on the quay, lined with containers, right next to the STS cranes.
At the end of the workday, employees from the office, production, and technical departments all gathered in the picnic area. The event was officially opened by Riia Sillave, head of HHLA TK Estonia, and Sebastian Lindemann from the group’s headquarters in Hamburg. Attendees were treated to hearty grilled food with a sea view, accompanied by drinks brought directly from Flensburg.
The highlight of the party was the presentation of the anniversary cake decorated with “140” and sparklers. It was cut together by board members Riia Sillave, Irene Sarapik, and Andres Uusoja, symbolizing shared achievements. At the end of the gathering, everyone received a small symbolic gift to take home.
